NOX Excavator Tiltrotator by Kinshofer
NOX Excavator Tiltrotator offers 360° continuous rotation and tilting angles of up to 2 x 50° make it a universal joint. This cylinderless solution features a very compact design with a narrow width and without any protruding parts.
The flexible tool is extremely service friendly, as there are only two greasing points. Meaning less wear parts. Also the hydraulics are integrated into the solid cast housing, and the entire installation can easily be realized.
Tilting function is provided by the elliptic piston design with only one thread. Due to the closed system, the risks of damages are reduced and the tilting force is constant.

Tiltrotator Basics
Excavator Tiltrotators allow maximum flexibility on the job by adding the tilt and rotation function to the excavator.
Depending on the control system options – the NOX tiltrotator can perform many other tasks than simple digging and grading. The extra functions on the tiltrotator allows for hydraulic attachments to run through the NOX. For example, grabs/grapples, compactor plates and hydraulic pallet forks.
NOX Tiltrotator Control Systems
We have simplified the NOX Control System options down to two options for the US market.
NOX Prop + Control System
The NOX Prop + control system is the most advanced control system for the NOX tiltrotator.
Requirements: 1 hydraulic circuit on the machine
Features: 7″ touchscreen control in the excavator cab. New SVAB customizable joysticks. Joysticks can be programmed to suit the operator(s).
Functionality: NOX Prop + control turns 1 hydraulic circuit into 5 functions on the tilrotator:
Tilt
Rotate
Extra 1 (for hydraulic attachments)
Extra 2 (for hydraulic attachments or gripper cassette)
Coupler Open/Close
All of these functions are independent and can be operated at the same time.
Installation: The NOX Prop + installation will be carried out by The Attachment Company to ensure that everything is installed correctly and tested. The install process for the NOX Prop + takes 2 full days.
Since The NOX Prop + control system only needs 1 hydraulic circuit to run – it is the only choice for a lot of excavators in the US. Machines in the US usually come from the factory with only 1 circuit. For more information on the control systems you can read our full NOX guide here!
DF04 Control System
The other control system option that we offer in the US is the DF04 (Direct Feed). This system is much simpler and uses the machine’s hydraulics to directly feed the tiltrotator.
Requirements: 2 x 2 way auxiliary hydraulic circuits
These two auxiliary circuits on the machine directly feed the Tilt & Rotate functions on the NOX. The existing joystick rollers will operate both functions.
Features: Small control box for the cab to switch between functions. Uses existing excavator joysticks.
Functionality: Since the DF04 uses the machine’s hydraulic functions – you can only ever use 2 functions at one time. Mostly this will be the tilt and rotate functions.
The control box in the cab will switch the rotation function to the extra functions for attachments or to open/close the quick coupler. You get the same 5 functions but can’t be used simultaneously.
Installation: DF04 installation is much simpler than the NOX Prop + and can be carried out in a single day. The Attachment Company can install or assist remotely.
